Talk to me

The time has come.

I can finally hold conversations with Lydia.

At two and a half years, she has finally gotten to a point where she can tell me exactly what she wants to specific detail.

Not to boast but she has excellent language skills for a two and a half year old.
She can understand two languages (English and Korean) but she speaks English more fluently than Korean.

While she was young, I saw on a TV show that you shouldn't talk to your babies in baby language as it slows down your child's language development.

Ever since then, I have always spoken to Lydia in full sentences like I would speak to an adult.
Of course I would use easier words for her to understand but structure wise, I always speak to her in correct grammar.

I think this has helped her develop her language skills a lot.

So parents! Remember to talk to your children in full sentences!
Children mimic how you speak so always be aware of how you speak.

Happy talking :)
