Lydia my sister technically left the nest for ONE hour.
Some of you may not think this is such a great feat but ever since she was born, she hasn't been an hour away from any one of our family members.
So sending her to day care for the first time was a big event especially for my mum and myself.
I could totally understand the emotions that parents go through when kids leave home or start at school.
It was like this mixture of love and overwhelming emotion.
I think mum shed a silent tear in the background (She never cries in front of me)

Mum and I were a bit worried because we heard from other parents that kids get separation anxiety and cry a lot when they first get separated from parents.
However, that was not the case with my sister.

She is very extroverted and loves meeting new people and going to new places.
So starting day care as a bit of a treat for her!

As soon as we dropped her off, she was like BYE! and went off to play.
Too easy.
But, other parents shouldn't be caught off guard in case their children are a bit more emotional and start crying.
Just prepare your hearts and prepare for a flood of tears.
